What do you see everyday? this is a voice over for like a short and simple story telling or a intro conversation starter.

A field recording i made. The original file was about 3 hours long, i just cut a cool piece out and uploaded it :: gear: one røde nt-1a (right channel) and one shure 8700 (left channel; eq-based hiss reduction) :: setup: both microphones were mounted next to each other with an offset of about 2. 5 meters :: the preamp for the nt1-a was the on-board preamp of the yamaha mg16/4 mixing console. Springtime in greenacres, washington. The birds are singing loudly, the wind is blowing, traffic can be heard in the distance, and an airplane flies overhead. Also heard is a distant train horn, a next door rooster, and a distant horn signalling break time at the paper mill.

A woman in high heels runs a few steps (approaching) then slows to a walk (leaving). Setting is a large marble hall. 96/24 monaural recording. No attribution: i explicitly give permission to use this sound without attribution.

This high quality recording is of a cargo logistics train leaving the port of fremantle, pulling many, at least 50, sea containers on rail-cars through a railway crossing on a bend, curve of the line. You can hear the signal bell on the drop gate with flashing red lights and the steel rail-car wheels screeching on the curved track.

A warm, canadian prairie day near the banks of the south saskatchewan river. The birds are chirping, insects are buzzing, the tall grass is rustling, a light wind blows through the trees. Recorded directly through my zoom h4n.

I use dreamtalk recorder for recording funny things i say in sleep, but sometimes it will pick up other sounds, it picked this horn up outside my window. Reason i added yellow as a tag is because i have synesthesia and a horn is the colour yellow.

The roar of a industrial rooftop ventilator coming to life (starts at 00:10). It is a large and scary whirring, mechanical, grinding sound. Used in episode 10, "decoherence" of the genius-podcast audio drama, and used to be the sound of the thames flood gate being deployed.

Walking through a demonstration for democracy in tel aviv, israel during protest against government judicial overhaul on march 2023. Thousands of people in the streets singing, chanting, playing drums, screaming "democracy" (around minute 1:16). Recorded with iphone 11 internal mics.

So i recently got a new portable recorder (sony pcm-d100). Early one spring morning, i could hear a woodpecker crystal clear from inside my room, with my noise canceling headphones still snug on my head. So naturally, i did a lil ambient recording. Since it was spring, the rich chorus of birdsongs made it, in my book, a freesound-worthy file. I didn't process this very much, except wrapping it around near the end so it could seamlessly loop back, and eqing it to bring out the birds more and soften the mic-noise. In case you're curious, it's a pileated woodpecker!.

Zoom h4n 2018 - onboard microphones. This is an unprocessed recording of the pilot light being repeatedly lit and then extinguished on a natural gas fire globe. This would be perfect for the sound of any gas device being lit such as a grill, boiler, pool heater, water heater, stove, oven, etc. . . I have give you many variations to choose from and provided some audio of the flame once lit that can be easily looped.
